Style Free

Style Free Beer If you're like me, and have all the style of a beached whale, this is the brand of beer you'll want to be drinking.

(It's not even real beer, but a "cheap" equivalent which goes by the name "happôshu" (発泡酒). Purchased at that high-class purveyor of bosom-shaped pillows to the general public, Don Quijote.)

Because it's so much cheaper than "real" beer, my husband drinks this particular brand any time he drinks beer (which isn't all that often). He says it tastes pretty good actually, and you can't really judge it poorly in comparison to the much more expensive stuff.

Not being a beer drinker, I wouldn't know, but I do like the price!

Coming from a country where 500ml of beer starts at 22 eurocents (about 35 yen; though for something that will set you apart from people who drink from the bottle on the street you'll be looking at 45 cents / 70 yen and upwards), value for money is what I look for in my brew :-). The above cost, if I recall correctly, 188 Yen (1.20 Euros), and it was drinkable (though a couple of the happôshu sorts are a uniquely regrettable experience).
