Fallen Sakura

The pink things, they fall off the trees pretty fast. Probably explains why everyone gets so excited about them.

According to Radio 4 the blossom-watching season just started today - I presume there is some sort of timelag in operation?

I suspect there's some sort of bi-directional timelag in news reporting between Japan and the outside world.

Haven't been here in blossom season for a few years and my expertise on the subject is not what it once was, but there's a "cherry blossom front" which moves from west to east along and up the archipelago, but varying from year to year depending on global warming and whatnot. Looks like this weekend will be the "peak" in the Tokyo area. I will keep you posted.

Just as long as they don't fall into my beer can, I'm happy.

The only thing falling into your beer can today would have diluted the contents :(
