German Year in Japan 2005/2006

March 2005 to March 2006 has been declared "German Year in Japan", with Germany presenting itself to Japan and the Japanese as a trading partner and a nice place to visit, etc. You get the drift.

As you may be aware, Japan is full of English, most of it rather silly. However if you look carefully you see a surprising amount of German. So as my personal contribution to the betterment of Japanese-German relations (I have vested interests in both ends of the partnership) I'm posting a series of pictures of German words and signage which pop up in odd locations.
