Evidently there's money in spam
I usually refrain from posting spam messages - this server has less than a terabyte of hard disk space - but this one caught my attention:
Dear (very visible email address of one of my sites): Bullet Proof server: Clean IPs 1024MB RAM DDR P4 3.2GHz CPU 72GB SCSI Dedicated 100 M fiber Unlimited Data Transfer Linux/Windows/FreeBSD Any software Based in China US$599.00/per month You may use the server for: Bulk Hosting Direct Mailing We also supply Target list according to your order, and sending out your message for you. Looking forward to do business with you. Cheers! Allen Support Team KZL123123@wellknownchinesesite.com Click here for off: SpammerNo@famousemailprovider.com
US$599.00/per month for a single dedicated server? A tenth of the amount in Euro will get you something with similar specifications here in Old Europe, albeit without SCSI.
If US$599.00 a month represents typical spammer outlay for server space alone, it must bring in more than say Amazon affiliate ads. Pity the Great Firewall of China doesn't work in reverse.
